The purpose of the Ceredigidol project by Ceredigion Young Farmers Club (YFC) is to produce video clips to strengthen and develop our present training programme to train members and further develop their skills.
The series of videos will concentrate on training members elected to different roles within their clubs and within the organisation e.g. Chair; secretary; treasurer, and will show them digitally what the role entails and how to undertake the work. It is also hoped that videos can be produced to provide stock-judging training to members and training on various country crafts and public speaking.
The videos will overcome the geographical barriers in the county as many of the members currently have to travel to specific places across the county throughout the year.
Project activities include appointing an Officer for two days a week to develop the scheme, with the aim of completing it over a two year period, develop the current website and sharing the training videos with the National Library of Wales so that the digital material may be preserved and their content made available for generations to come. It is also an opportunity to share the videos with other organisations, particularly those relating to the development of chairing skills, public speaking, etc.
A wide range of people will benefit from this project including; young people, older people, women, Welsh speakers, Black, ethnic and minority groups, individuals with disabilities, farming households, micro-businesses, small businesses, tourists and in the future all young farmers clubs.
This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
