CARON SWIMMING POOL - TREGARON TOWN COUNCIL

Tregaron Swimming Pool has been closed since October 2017 and is in grave danger of becoming a blot on the Tregaron landscape, neighbouring a new school which opened in September 2018.

This project will fund the second stage of the project which is the development stage. This includes costings such as market analysis/research, consultation sessions, feasibility study to include a 5 year business plan for the project, along with legal fees, architect fees and a heating survey. The development of the project is between Tregaron Town Council and Hamdden Caron Leisure.

The end purpose of the overarching project as a part of the TRIp funding is to renovate the pool, demolishing the present changing facility, and re -building a 2-storey building which would house an uni-sex changing area, reception area and possibly a baby pool or soft play area on the ground floor and a communal seating/viewing/ meeting area on the second floor.

The first part of the Cynnal y Cardi funded stage is to appoint a consultant who will engage with the community and stakeholders with the aim of producing a Feasbility Study, which includes a Business Plan for the Swimming Pool. Alongside this, an architect will be appointed to carry out the design work, and a consultation with the public to finalise the plans for the swimming pool.

The Feasibility study will also look at other funding streams that are available to develop leisure facilities, and also at the possibility of if a biomass heating system. It would also look at the feasibility of linking up with other establishments such as Hamdden Caron, Bwlchgwynt Chapel and Tregaron Bowls Club to provide heating for them too.
