Ceredigion Connected

Digital connectivity has become an essential part of modern life, influencing how individuals work, communicate and access services.

Improved digital connectivity has the potential to help address a number of the long-standing issues facing rural areas, both in terms of economic development and in terms of quality of life/wellbeing issues, such as access to key services and maintaining connections to friends and family. Digital connectivity, more specifically broadband and mobile, are now recognised as a fourth utility and a critical component to support our daily lives.

The aim of the Ceredigion Connected project is to create capacity locally by employing a Digital Development Officer for Ceredigion. The officer is undertaking a role to inspire, to lead, develop and advise individuals, communities and businesses across Ceredigion who have no or limited digital connectivity on a range of options to improve the access to, and usage of digital technology. This includes both the development of infrastructure and the exploitation of these technologies.

The officer will develop a better understanding of local needs in order to be able to respond to those digital needs and alternative ways of supporting digital connectivity at a grass roots level can then be developed.
